An exceedingly rare autograph letter signed from the legendary pianist to Rafaello Busoni, son of composer Ferruccio Busoni, expressing satisfaction at Rafaello's comparison of Gould's style to that of Ferruccio Busoni, and hoping to meet in New York. Toronto, May 27, 1958; 2 pp. Gould writes: "Dear Mr. Busoni, I wish to thank you most sincerely for your wonderful letter. I can assure you that I have never before been so honored and delighted by kind words about my work. It is of the greatest satisfaction that this compliment should take the form of a comparison to the vast artistry and accomplishment of your father. I would like to take the opportunity of telephoning you when I am next in New York, and I hope that I may have the pleasure of meeting you. Again, may I thank you for your letter, which will remain a treasured possession for the rest of my life. Most cordially yours, Glenn Gould."
