The 1746-BAS-5/02 is a single-slot BASIC language module from Allen-Bradley, designed for use in SLC 500 modular or fixed chassis systems. It facilitates communication and data exchange with serial devices such as HMIs, barcode scanners, modems, printers, and other ASCII peripherals. Supporting flexible, machine-level logic via a variant of the BASIC programming language, it is ideal for custom automation applications and data acquisition.
The module includes three communication ports—two configurable serial ports (PRT1 and PRT2) and one DH485 port—offering a wide range of connectivity options. It is programmable through an ASCII terminal or the Allen-Bradley BASCOM software.
