Original Items: Only One Available. This is an actual Höhenmesser (altimeter) as used in German aircraft. It is made of steel and painted black, and the face registers coarse altitude in kilometers from 0 to 10,000. The reverse still has the hose plug present, which is not marked. This connected to a pressure tube conveying air from outside the plane. This example does not have the conventional markings and has a data plate which appears to have been added later. There is a note on the top written in German about how to read the altimeter.

The face is marked with the logo of maker Kroneis but does not have a Work or Luftwaffe number. From this information, we believe the piece may be post-war.

Condition is very good, and it is marked on the back plate with all of the manufacturer information, but as mentioned we believe this to have been added later. The glass is in great shape, and there is no damage of any type that we can see.
