Easy To Use Original U.s. Pre-wwii Large Hawaii Pearl Harbor Photo Album With 368 Photographs Of Soldiers & Vehicles - Beat The Rush [k0tl2orf]

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a wonderful opportunity to add a complete photo album from a US Soldier’s time while stationed in Hawaii before and during World War II. There are 40+ pages filled with 368 pictures varying in size and location. Albums such as this are of crucial importance in the preservation of our history.

We aren’t sure when the album was put together, but near the end there are photos of soldiers wearing M1 Helmets, so we can only assume the soldier was present at Schofield Barracks during Pearl Harbor, but of this we can't be certain as there isn’t any mention of it.

The album measures 8 x 12” and is in good shape overall. The cover is a great Hawaiian made example with ALOHA HONOLULU at the bottom. There are countless photographs of soldiers relaxing, holding machine guns, artillery, rifles, some with helmets and some without, some photos of planes, tanks, and other vehicles, and some Army buildings. Some photos of Pineapple harvesting, many photos from exercises in the forest, and some photos of what is certainly Schofield Barracks. There is just too much in this great album to write down everything. And there are likely some names on the back of some of the photos, so this could likely be identified.

As stated above, albums like these are fading from time and surviving WW2 albums complete like this one are becoming harder to find. Do your part in preserving history and add this album to your collection to display proudly!

Context is everything when preserving old photo albums. The order in which an album was put together meant something to the creator and may give you clues about the photographs if they’re not identified. If at all possible, keep old albums in their original order. It’s okay to remove loose photos, but make a note of where they came from.

The older albums such as these usually withstand the ravages of time. The leather or fabric covers may wear, but the pages stay well intact. The black paper albums of the early 20th century are more fragile, while the glue from magnetic albums can damage photographs.

And, as with all old photographs, keep albums in a safe, climate controlled environment.
