Stereo Pairs are commonly used for foley, field, and design sound recording. Rycote stereo pairs are accurately selected to be identical to the tighter tolerances. This is to ensure an identic sound response to capture the most real stereo image. It is like using two DSLR camera lenses to stitch for a panorama shot, they need to be identical and accurately placed. Rycote offers St. pair within 0.5db sensitivity. Different polar pattern stereo pairs are designed to perform different stereo recording setups.

Ideal for spaced A-B configuration. Provide an immersive effect “sound bath” less focused on source direction.

The Rycote OM-08 is an omnidirectional pencil condenser microphone designed for a range of applications in studio and field recording.

The OM-08 microphones provide a solid low-frequency response with virtually no drop-off at 20Hz. The mics are built on Rycote’s low self-noise preamp design and capsules which offer a consistent sonic signature that mixes well when cut together with other Rycote microphones in the range. The OM-08 mics can be used individually or in matched stereo pairs.

OM-08
Sharing the same core pre-amplifier electronics, the OM-08 (omnidirectional) benefit the natural omnidirectional nature of the capsule within all the range and there is no back signal reaching the diaphragm. Despite the standard 20Hz frequency response measurement, the OM-08 will capture even an octave lower than 10Hz. Like all the range it has a slight lift of the 5KHz that brings out vocal sibilance and makes for a naturally crisp clear recording

Applications
Commonly used for MS stereo recording ( w/cardioid mic), or in Stereo pair combination to capture ambiences/room tone on location. Can also be used on organs or acoustic instruments as well (strings family).
