The MidOpt LP630 Red Longpass Filter is used with a monochrome camera to increase contrast and resolution by passing deep red and near-infrared (IR) light while blocking all other visible (VIS) wavelengths. Longpass filters are often referred to as "sharp-cut" filters and are specifically designed to pass a broad spectrum of longer wavelength light while blocking shorter wavelengths. They're commonly used in fluorescence applications to block an excitation light source or to pass multiple emission wavelengths, improving signal-to-noise ratio. If the application required blocking IR light for easier subject matter recognition, the MidOpt BP660 is recommended.
