German for "Masterpiece," the Meisterstück No. 144 Classique and it's white "snow-cap" logo is a worldwide symbol of luxury and quality. Slightly smaller than its big brother, the 146, the Meisterstück No. 144 Classique features a thin cigar-shaped body and #4 sized nib. The perfect size for those with smaller hands, or those that want a slimmer pen, the Montblanc No. 144 Classique truly is a "Masterpiece" of German design. This is the Solitaire variant, it is made of brass and then overlaid with a plating of gold. It is also equipped with an 18K gold nib, rather than the standard 14K.

The Montblanc 1444 can be dated by looking at a couple of key characteristics. The nib was changed from 14K to 18K around 1985. No serial number and "Germany" on the clip ring would have been used until 1988/1989. This dates the pen to the mid-1980s.
