Comfort First Augacephalus Ezendami (mozambique Golden Baboon) 0.5" Slash 80% Off The Price [tC3xzeam]

Augacephalus ezendami (Gallon) is a very attractive, robust baboon spider of the subfamily Harpactirinae found in terrestrial burrows, under rocks and brush in tropical savannas to arid lands of Mozambique. This species develops a champagne-colored pelt with tinges of rust and steely gray that sharply contrasts with the underlying black exoskeleton, creating a vivid starburst pattern of darkness across the carapace. The abdomen, like other baboon spiders, is patterned in small, bean-shaped paint-like flecks of color and an interrupted chevron pattern. A. ezendami is a classic baboon spider– reclusive, skittish, fast, and defensive with rather strong venom for a theraphosid- so not to be handled. A. ezendami can be cared for similarly to members of the closely-related genus, Ceratogyrus and other arid land baboon spiders. Like other baboon spiders, these are tough as nails if given the right conditions. A. ezendami thrives in a dry, fossorial (burrowing) setup with a hide such as a cork slab. Dried dead leaves can also be added to incorporate into their sweeping galleries of silk. Their substrate should be kept slightly moist for juveniles, but dry for larger juveniles to adults. Lightly misting one corner of the cage routinely helps these tarantulas stay hydrated while not causing excessively moist substrates. A. ezendami is a favorite of baboon spider enthusiasts and a fantastic species for those interested in raising Africa’s gorgeous tarantula lineages.
