24" Half-Moon Deflector (ConvEGGtor Stone) for 2XL Big Green EGG

Use: 

Most commonly used a heat deflector in the 2XL or XXL EGG. The deflector(s) require the XL Big Green EGG ConvEGGtor basket (sku 119735). The Basket holds the stones under the 2XL cooking grid.

Use one half-moon to create a dual cooking zone: one side direct, the other indirect. Use two half-moons to set-up for low-n-slow BBQ cooks.

Best to set the stone in the grill as the grill comes to temperature to prevent thermal shock. Ceramic Stones absorb moisture like sponges, so protect the topside of the Stone with foil or drip pan.

Note: The half moon stones are too big for kamados grills with a 24 inch or smaller cooking grid.

Specs:

Approximate stone specifications are 24" diameter, 3/4" thickness and high refractory ceramics. Stone's diameter can vary +/- 1/8". Weighs approximately 12.2 lbs. 

Care:

Do not oil or use dish detergents on the stone. Do not do clean with high heat or in the dishwasher. To clean, scrape debris off and heat with moderate temperatures.

Recommended:

Check out our Ceramic Spacers, and pizza Turners. Use the Spacers to lift the pizza stone or drip pan above the blocking stone. Use the long Turner to work/check the dough during the cook.
