Unmatched Stability and Consistency
Renowned for their stability and consistency, Nankang AR-1 tyres have been chosen as control tyres by prestigious championships such as the BMW 1 series SuperCup, Civic Challenge, and Classic VW Cup. Additionally, they have secured podium finishes in open tyre series like Tourismo X, BMWCCR, and 750MC Club Enduro. The 2019 production 100TW tyres, available in 17" and above, now feature a kevlar lining, enhancing stability and consistency on high-intensity circuits such as the Nurburgring and Spa. The AR-1 has also achieved EU tyre labelling, granting it MSA List 1B approval for optimal performance.
Technical Specifications and Usage Guidelines
For optimal performance, the Nankang AR-1 tyres have specific technical specifications. The optimum operating temperature ranges from 71-104 degrees Celsius, while the ideal camber settings are between -1.0 to -3.0 degrees. The tyre's hot pressure settings vary based on weight, with recommendations ranging from 23 - 27.5psi for vehicles under 800kg to 34 - 42psi for vehicles over 1,400kg. Cold pressure settings are higher, with the highest figure being used for vehicles under 800kg. When fitting the tyres, align the yellow dot, which is the lightest part of the tyre, with the valve stem for a balanced fit. In case of handling issues, refer to the table below for solutions:
- To reduce Oversteer: Reduce rear pressures or increase front pressures.
- To increase Oversteer: Increase rear pressures or reduce front pressures.
- To reduce Understeer: Reduce front pressures or increase rear pressures.
