ARDEX TLT Building Panels offer builders and tile contractors a strong, lightweight, waterproof, and vapor-resistant base for wet areas. They are XPS foam panels manufactured with a proprietary synthetic polymer blend and alkali-resistant fiber mesh. This gives the ARDEX TLT Building Panels a highly rigid structure and exceptional bonding strength. Approved for steam showers via ASTM E 96-05 when Waterproofing Membrane is installed over the Building Panels

How to use

ARDEX TLT Building Panels can be installed over wood and metal studded walls horizontally or vertically by using the galvanized ARDEX TLT Screws and Washer. All vertical joints must be supported by suitable, load-bearing framing. The maximum spacing of studs is 16" in the center.

• STEP 1: Place ARDEX TLT Screws and Washers 12" apart vertically and 16" apart horizontally. It is best when applying the screws to create a slight depression in the board to reduce any buildup at the screw. Vertical seams must be staggered
• STEP 2: Method 1 (ARDEX TLT Seam Tape) - Seam Waterproofing - Cover all seams and screw/washer dents with the recommended ARDEX modified thin-set mortar and ARDEX TLT Seam Tape. Ensure all seams and screws/washers are fully covered with a minimum 2" overlap (approximately a 4.5" patch to cover washers). Use a grout float to remove any excess thin-set and air pockets
  Method 2 (ARDEX CA 20P) - Seam Waterproofing - Cover all seams and screw/washer dents with ARDEX CA 20P. Flatten the excess adhesive with a spackle knife. Make sure all seams are fully covered for a watertight seal
  Method 3 (ARDEX TLT Waterproofing Membrane) - For Steam Showers - ARDEX requires a layer of TLT Waterproofing Membrane to be installed over the TLT Building Panels
