DITEQ’s DI-GARD Concrete Hardener/Sealer is a semi-topical coating combining the benefits of a penetrating densifier with a topical abrasion resistant sealer. DiGard comes in a ready-to-use state — do not dilute or mix with other chemicals. When properly applied it will create an abrasion and chemical resistant protective barrier to enhance a polished concrete floor.

Features

• DI-GARD should be used after the concrete slab is polished and treated with the DI-HARD Densifier
• The DI-GARD should be part of the final process because it will create a barrier coat to resist other chemicals from penetrating or bonding to the surface
• The DI-GARD barrier coat should be reapplied as needed, typically every 3-5 years
• Because it is a sealer, be certain to apply a test area in an inconspicuous place to be certain it doesn’t alter the appearance of the slab surface
• Do not let product freeze

Application

• Be certain the surface is completely clean, dry and the concrete slab has remained over 38°F for over 72 hours
• Charge a dry microfiber mop with a small amount of the DI-GARD product and use a misting sprayer to lightly mist just enough product for a very thin coat to be spread evenly with the microfiber mop
• It should be applied at a coverage rate of about 1000 sq-ft per gallon
• Let DI-GARD dry 1 hour between coats or for 2-4 hours before final burnishing or buffing the surface after the final coat
• If any coat is applied too thick it will create ridges, streaks and/or visible staining, which will alter the appearance of the slab surface
