This series of BEARHUG Locknuts with a compression collar is fully interchangeable with the metric locknut made in accordance with ISO standard 2982 and usually identified with the KM prefix. All measurements are in millimeters.

This quality series of BEARHUG is manufactured with quality threads of tolerance grade and position 4H. This is more comparable to the Class 3 thread of the current American retaining nuts, which the usual 5H tolerance grade and position of the threads for bearing retaining nuts does not uniformly reach. The 5H is more comparable to Class 2.

This upgrading allows a user of these self-locking nuts to confidently interchange with the nuts of various national manufacture and national standard for metric dimensioned locknuts. The runout of the bearing face to the pitch diameter has a one revolution total indicator reading no greater than: 10 microns (.0004 inches) for sizes 00 through 045, 15 microns (.0006 inches) for sizes 05 through 20, 20 microns (.0008 inches) for sizes 21 through 40.

Surface finish of bearing face is within 1 micron. These nuts come in carbon steel with a nylon insert.
