When speaking of their products, Benoît and Ivan – founders of Astier de Villatte – said “we ask people to produce with a good spirit, so the pieces look almost alive” – a joyful part of the design story. This creamer from the Simple collection is characterised by an idiosyncratic spout and a curved handle, while the base is stamped with the signature crest and a faint mark of the maker’s initials. It’s handmade in black terracotta clay sourced from quarries in the Paris Basin and given its distinct milky finish via a soft white glaze.
