For ovenware Mayco recommends that ware be placed in a cold oven, warming as a the oven pre-heats. Then, the stoneware can be removed from a hot oven, allowing to cool to room temperature. Avoid drastic fluctuations in temperature (freezer to ove, oven to freezer) to prevent thermanl shock within the clay body and glaze.

For artists wishing to use a low-fire glaze with Mayco's Stoneware bisque, fire the ware to maturity to cone 5/6. Then apply Stroke and Coat for glaze firing to cone 06/05.
