This book is the bold version of my traditional leather journal with lock and key. It was designed using brighter and more vivid colors in a rich chromatic harmony based on colors green and blue, but still to resemble a medieval tome from ancient times. The metal brads placed in the corners and the lock have a patina to fit the overall antique look of this book. The brads will allow it to lay flat when opened but the surface of the covers will never enter in contact with the table and thus will protect the decoration from scratching. I saw this system used in old books and I just loved it.

The spine was designed to resemble that of an old book; The raised bands were obtained with strips of leather underneath the one that covers it.

The book measures 10.2 x 7.3 inches (26 x 18.5 cm). It is will be filled with Favini Prisma paper and will have 134 pages / 268 sides. This paper is warm white, hand torn and has 160 g/m². It is acid free, perfect for writing and sketching in ink and dry media, even watercolor.

The end pages are made of marbled paper. The headbands are hand sewn from blue and yellow thread.
