Twilight I AZ Mount and Tripod
Introducing this High quality and functional Twilight I AZ Mount and Tripod. This Twilight I is a light-to-medium-duty alt-azimuth mount and tripod designed to quickly and easily accept small to medium-sized refractors, such as the AR102 or ED102mm, and of course, the ED80mm. Lightweight, fast Newtonians also match up nicely with the Explore Scientific Twilight I mount. You are good to go if your telescope has a Vixen-Style Universal Dovetail bar for mounting the telescope to the mount head and does not exceed 18 pounds.
Why Buy The Explore Scientific Twilight I Mount and Tripod?
- The adjustable arm allows for painless zenith observations.
- Easy to break down for transport. (Total weight between the mount and tripod is 16.7lbs)
- Can support up to 18 lbs
- The lowest price is guaranteed with the Twilight I only when you buy from Stellar Telescope. See Guarantee
This Twilight I alt-azimuth mount head is made of powder-coated aluminum and has worm gears on both axes. The adjustable head can be tilted forward or back at a 45° angle to grant more clearance for your telescope to point it straight up for viewing at the zenith.
The Slow-motion control cables are attached to the vertical and horizontal axes and quickly turn in the nighttime, even with gloves on, due to the oversized knurled knobs attached to each of the cables. They can be connected to either side of each axis to accommodate right or left-handed users or different types of scopes (for example, refractors vs. Newtonian reflectors) for the ease of adjustment.
The stainless steel tripod that comes standard together with a Twilight I mount has adjustable legs and a 42 inches wide footprint, which sustains the tripod or makes it more stable. A spreader bar locks against the inside of the legs to further ensure the tripod and keep vibrations to a minimum. Buy to see it for yourself! Add to cart now!
