Verified C1938 Sheaffer Green Striated Oversized Balance Fountain Pen Jeweler Band Restored Don't Wait [V9eGIuDP]

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Restored Circa 1938 Sheaffer White Dot Oversize Balance Fountain Pen in the Marine Green Striated Celluloid with Uncataloged Wide Lined Jewelers Cap Banding. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned, and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, and barrel. Replaced the old packing unit with new, added a new plunger gasket, and new stainless plunger rod. Hand polished the Gold Filled Clip, Jewelers Cap Banding, and 14K Gold 2-Tone Lifetime NIB. I also cleaned, buffed, and polished the barrel, cap, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the celluloid of the fountain pen.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks, teeth marks, or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The cap does have the White Dot with the gold-filled Uncataloged Wide Lined Jewelers Cap Banding that has been polished to shine bright with no gold-filled loss. The cap banding cartouche area does have the initials "IEH". The clip displays only a hint of gold fill loss on the edges of the flat ball of the clip and at the very top end of the clip - these are very minor and nearly impossible to see with the naked eye. The barrel is clearly stamped with, "W.A. Sheaffer Pen Co Fort Madison, Iowa, U.S.A. Patented in the U.S.A.". Collector Alert: The transparency of the barrel is Near Water Clear - one can easily see through the barrel, albeit with minor ambering, these are hard to find in this condition. There are no monograms or personalizations on the celluloid of the cap or barrel. This Oversize Sheaffer Balance Fountain Pen measures 5 5/8" in length capped and 6 1/2" posted.

The Sheaffer Plunger Filling System has been restored. I have replaced the old packing unit with a new, added a new plunger gasket, and a new stainless plunger rod. I have tested the plunger filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. The Plunger Filling System works excellent and holds an enormous amount of ink.

This Sheaffer has the 2-Tone 14K Lifetime Oversize NIB. The actual writing portion, the iridium, of the 14K Sheaffer NIB has a fine point measuring roughly .55mm when measured with digital calipers. When creating a writing sample, the NIB writes with a fine stroke/line measuring between .45mm to .57mm when measured with digital calipers. The two-tone plating of the nib does not display any wear and is in excellent condition. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue-Black Ink.

This is a very Rare Sheaffer Balance Fountain Pen in the Marine Green Striated Celluloid with hard to acquire Jeweler's Cap Banding that I would grade in Excellent Condition. The barrel transparency is in such immaculate condition and will be a prize for the new owner. Certainly, this fountain pen is collector grade and this fine writing instrument is ready to write with or just add to your writing arsenal collection.
