For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Restored 1920s Good Service (made by National/Barret) Oversize Fountain Pen in the Green Jade Celluloid. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned, and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, and section. Replaced the old rubber sac with a new silicone sac. Hand polished the Gold Filled Clip, 2-Ring Cap Banding, and 14K Gold Warranted #8 NIB. I also cleaned, buffed, and polished the barrel and cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the celluloid of the fountain pen.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in very good condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The cap has a wonderful polished Gold Filled Clip that displays no gold fill loss. The 2-ring Cap Banding displays a bright gold fill color with no wear. The lever is in excellent condition with no gold fill loss. The barrel is stamped, albeit light in the front of the imprint, with, "GOOD SERVICE PEN CO SR LOGO CHICAGO, ILL". There are no monograms or personalizations either the cap or barrel. This Oversized Good Service Fountain Pen measures 5 1/2" in length capped and 6 3/4" posted.

I have tested the lever filling mechanism with water and fills as it should.

This Good Service has a Warranted 14K #8 NIB. The actual writing portion, (the iridium), of the 14K NIB has a broad point measuring roughly 1.06mm when measured with digital calipers. When creating a writing sample, the NIB writes with a medium to double broad stroke/line measuring from .74mm to 1.60mm when measured with digital calipers. The nib provides a smooth writing experience. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

This is a great Oversize Good Service Fountain Pen in the Jade Green Celluloid. These 2nd and 3rd Tier Pen Company provided us with some great colors that collectors seek out today. I would grade this Good Service Fountain Pen is Very Fine condition and a great color example to add to one's writing arsenal collection.
