DESCRIPTION:
Here we introduce this beauty. It is an authentic tooth from this lower Cretaceous ichthyophagous theropod dinosaur. The genus Suchomimus, has teeth with Baryonyx- Spinosaurid type morphology, in fact they are the ancestors of the Spinosaurids of the Upper Cretaceous and contemporaries with his brother the Baryonyx genus. It is very common to find Spinosaurus teeth on the market from the abundant upper cretaceous outcrops of southern Morocco (Ifezouane Formation). But the genus Suchomimus only can be found in the Lower Cretaceous outcrops from Erlhaz Formation in the Teneré desert in Niger. These are much less abundant and quite rare fossils.
