PERC 5/E Internal RAID Adapter is a PCI Express based SAS RAID controller that provides enterprise class protection and performance for supported Dell PowerEdge server. It provides support for RAID levels 1, 5, 10, and 50. RAID level 0 is also available for non-critical data. It includes a powerful Intel IOP333 processor with XScale Microarchitecture along with a 256MB DDR2 memory for read and write cache. It delivers a high bandwidth of 3 Gbps SAS technology and its SAS connectors contain four SAS ports each for a total bandwidth of up to 12 Gbps. When used on supported PowerEdge servers, it also includes battery backup designed to provide up to 72 hours of protection.
